Carding is a very critical process in the production of dry needle-punched nonwovens. The main function of the carding machine is to further break up and mix the opened fiber clusters, and use the card clothing on the surface of the pair of rollers. The mutual movement makes the opened single fibers interlace each other, using their own crimping and friction to form a uniform fiber web, which is laid and crossed to form a net for consolidation by a needle punch. Before the cotton layer enters the carding machine, the cotton layer must be effectively held by the feeding roller, so that the cotton layer is subjected to primary carding under the action of the opening roller. There are three types of feeding roller devices.


(1) The feeding roller in the form of upper feeding is located on the feeding plate, the cotton layer is held tightly by the feeding roller card clothing, and then it rises to the curved plate under the action of the roller The points are then combed, opened and transferred by the opening roller with card clothing rotating at high speed. Because the shape of the curved plate is an acute angle, the fiber produces a great friction at the acute angle of feeding and output, so it can have a good control force on the fed fiber to reduce the phenomenon of fluffing, and the fiber The damage is small. This kind of upper feeding device is generally used for fibers with relatively delicate raw materials, high web requirements, and length> 51mm.


(2) The principle and method of the lower feeding device are basically the same, except that the arc-shaped plate is located above the roller, which has slight damage to the fiber. This device is widely used to spin relatively short fibers with a length of less than 51mm.


(3) Feeding by roller holding type (as shown in Figure 3), there are usually one or two pairs of rollers with card clothing, hold the fed cotton layer tightly, and make the cotton layer under the action of the opening roller , The fiber does not produce irregular free, but relatively speaking, this kind of feeding method damages the fiber. In addition, because the feeding roller and the opening roller are arranged in a zigzag pattern, there is inevitably a certain distance. Some fibers cannot be effectively controlled during the spinning of short fibers. Therefore, the phenomenon of fluffing will occur, and the lower feeding roller is very easy Wrap the rollers, thereby affecting the grip of the feeding roller, causing patchy clouds to appear on the cotton web, and easily causing mechanical damage. This feeding method is rarely used in high-speed, high-yield equipment.
